On Thursday, February 27th, the historic Battleship IOWA Museum | National Museum of the Surface Navy became a place of honor and gratitude as we hosted Rock for Responders, a benefit dedicated to LA’s first responders in the wake of the devastating LA fires. More than 3,000 complimentary tickets were issued to police, fire, and frontline responders, allowing them to enjoy an unforgettable evening with their guests and families.
The night kicked off in spectacular fashion with a special flyover as guitar virtuoso Steve Stevens performed his Grammy Award-winning Top Gun Anthem. DJ Morty Coyle kept the energy high, spinning classic tunes throughout the evening, while emcee BJ Lange, a retired Air Force veteran, kept the crowd engaged. Next came a performance of “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars featuring the Adopt The Arts Foundation’s honor choir, The Changels, representing 3 different elementary schools – Rosewood STEM Magnet, Della S. Lindley and Agua Caliente.
A lineup of inspiring guest speakers took the stage, including ABC News National Correspondent Matt Gutman, who shared his firsthand experiences from the front lines. Actor Steve Guttenberg, alongside The American Legion, Pacific Palisades Post 283 Commander Joe Ramirez, reflected on the community’s response to the Palisades fires. Actors Ron Perlman and his wife, Allison Dunbar, joined Best Friends Animal Society’s Chief Program Officer Marc Peralta to recognize the courageous work of animal rescuers and volunteers.
The all-star Kings of Chaos band delivered an electrifying performance featuring Adopt the Arts Founder Matt Sorum, Orianthi, Carmine Rojas, Paul Trudeau, Steve Stevens, Glenn Hughes, Robin Zander, Kevin Cronin, Richie Sambora, and Phil X.
From the wonderful Changels performance, heartfelt speeches to high-energy rock, Rock for Responders was a powerful night of unity, appreciation, and support for those who put their lives on the line for our communities. Thank you to all who attended and to our incredible first responders—this night was for you!
